The Version Control aims at making the idea of version control simpler and easier to use for all personas, not just developers. At Postman, we are building a massively multiplayer experience that allows users to be able to work with their peers in real time. This requires a well structured version control system to back it up as well as make it easier for users to contribute and iterate on their APIs.
With features like Forking, Branching, and Changelog, our vision is to build a generic platform that can be extended to any structure with great performance and stability.
Building the capabilities a new change management and recording system with capabilities like storage, eventual consistency, access management and much more.
Interface with the rest of the organization to learn more about their pain points when using our team’s APIs.
Advocate better practises for software engineering by mentoring and encouraging others around you to build a quality product.
Own and execute end-to-end initiatives.
1-3 years of experience developing complex, distributed software applications at Postman’s scale.
Good knowledge of Git internals or experience in building a version control system.
Proficient with ReactJS, Javascript, node.js and strong understanding of web fundamentals.
Has a point of view and is comfortable and prior experience in collaborating and respectfully challenging other stakeholders, such as PM, TL, EM etc.
Experience in working with large datasets is a bonus.
You enjoy learning and sharing knowledge within and across teams.
You have a product oriented mindset and empathy for the users.
